ChemInform Abstract

Die Oxidation von Hexamethylbenzol in Dichlormethan-Trifluoressigsäure mit Tetrabutylammoniumtetrafluoroboratzusatz ergibt in Gegenwart von Benzol, Toluol, p-Xylol oder Mesitylen außer Pentamethylbenzyltrifluoracetat auch Diphenylmethane, die aus dem Pentamethylbenzylkation, das bei der Oxidation entsteht und den zugesetzten Kohlenwasserstoffen gebildet werden (Produktverteilung, Mechanismus).
