Meixiang Lv, Chunfeng Yao, Dingqiao Yang and Heping Zeng have developed a halogen-free flame retardant made from a cyclotriphosphazene derivative. The cover shows the vertical flame testing of samples of cotton gauze soaked in 0, 10 or 25 wt% solutions of the cyclotriphosphazene derivative. The flame retardancy of the gauze samples improves with increasing cyclotriphosphazene derivative concentration, showing that the cyclotriphosphazene derivative is a good flame retardant.
