Abstract

The methodological problem of correct estimation of invariant Arrhenius parameters Ǎ and Ě from nonisothermal experiments has been analyzed for thermal decomposition of commercial butyl rubber in inert atmosphere. It is shown that restriction of the kinetic analysis by varying n in the function f(α) = (1 − α)n may yield incorrect Ǎ and Ě. It is necessary to apply the set of f(α) known in the formal topochemical reactions kinetics for correct estimation of Ǎ and Ě.
