Der Kopf des Seepferdchens neigt sich fast rechtwinklig zum Körper, ebenso wie die Barbiturgruppe und IPy in dem NHC-Ligandensystem, das S. Bastin, V. César, V. Michelet et al. in ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 8061 beschreiben. Das Seepferdchen hat auch einen Brutbeutel, um seine Jungen großzuziehen – vergleichbar mit der Art und Weise, wie der Ligand das Goldzentrum schützt.
