Abstract

en

The morphology and structure of poly(dodecalactam) obtained by anionic bulk polymerization in the presence of different activators have been investigated. The structure of the polymer samples was characterized by means of infrared spectroscopy, wide angle X-ray scattering, calorimetry, and polarizing light microscopy. It was established that at cooling of the polymer melts two crystalline modifications are formed. The effect of the polymerization conditions and of the molecular weight on the formation of the α- and γ-modifications is discussed.
