Green digital transition provides the opportunity to sustainably transform physical industries. 5G and related technologies play a critical role in making industries more sustainable, safer, and productive while addressing the environmental and social challenges that face our planet. For all industry sectors, 5G and other digital technologies can reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, reduce waste, and improve the efficiencies of supply chains, while societies can connect the unconnected and achieve greater civic participation and inclusion. In addition, first industrial movers can create new competitive opportunities, and new revenue streams while creating tangible environmental and social benefits. Therefore, it is essential that the key decision makers understand how these concepts are interrelated, and how 5G can accelerate value capturing in both areas.
