Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair

Summary

Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is the first-line therapy for the majority of thoracic aortic pathologies. Thoracic aortic pathologies include a spectrum of disease such as aortic injury, intramural aortic hematoma, penetrating aortic ulcers and type B aortic dissections(TBAD) and thoracic aortic aneurysms. This chapter focuses on the etiologies for thoracic aortic pathology, the expanding indications for repair, operative planning and technique and post-operative considerations when performing a TEVAR.
