Case Study 2—Trend and Seasonality Analysis

Summary

This chapter presents various data analysis techniques to be applied to all the lost profit situations having period of interruptions measured in months. It takes aid of a case study to depict a situation where loss of income on the account of an accident is to be measured in months in the event of absence of the manager's quarter. In order to deal with such situations, one has to take help of statistical values such as Cycle Testing, Trendline Testing, Occupancy Percentages, Trend, Seasonality and Noise. The trend and seasonality method is suitable for the cases where the period of interruption is measured in months.
