Abstract

The Feminist Porn Awards are an awards ceremony sponsored by Good For Her, a women-focused sex toy store in Toronto, Canada. The awards were founded in 2006 after staff at Good For Her wanted a way to recognize and honor individuals who were making pornography that aligned with the feminist and sex-positive mission of their business. Good For Her was frustrated about the lack of erotica and pornography focused on women and marginalized people, including people of color and transgender/gender-variant performers, producers, and directors.
