This chapter describes generic decomposition methods of dynamic image sequences into simple elements: images and time curves. It proposes classes of estimation methods for the local analysis of contrast enhancement over time as a result of the injection of an exogenous contrast media, and for the analysis of the displacement of organs in motion. The mathematical methods presented here propose a more compact representation and an easier interpretation of the “relevant” information contained in a sequence of images. The chapter proposes two conventional approaches: the first approach is dedicated to the study of the kinetics of contrast enhancement with the purpose of bringing forward alterations related to a pathology. The second approach is related to the study of the regional contraction function of the left ventricle with the objective of detecting anomalies of this contraction.
