The methodology used by in-vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratories when handling gametes and embryos must be precise and effective in order to obtain satisfactory pregnancy rates. It is essential that standard operating procedures are strictly followed in order to ensure a high-quality process and to avoid potential risks, not only to the couples seeking treatment in assisted reproduction centers but also to the professionals who work in them.
