Abstract

Tissue-engineered bone is a bone tissue regenerated based on the principle of tissue engineering. It can restore the structure and function of a bone defect by using the healing response of vertebrates’ body. Bone cells, bone growth factors, and biodegradable scaffolds are the three elements in bone tissue engineering. By combining one or more of these elements, successful bone defect treatments have been achieved using tissue-engineered bone.
