Abstract

An emission inventory is a comprehensive listing of air pollutant emissions within a specific geographic location and time interval. Emission inventories provide the technical foundation for air quality management plans designed to improve or maintain ambient air quality. Air pollution control agencies use emission inventories to identify potential control measures and sources that are subject to controls, determine control program effectiveness, and predict future air quality through air quality simulation models.
