Thermally Stimulated Depolarization Currents in Me2+-Doped NaCl-Type Alkali Halide Crystals
Abstract
A new equation describing the thermally stimulated depolarization (TSD) currents in Me2+-doped NaCl-type alkali halide crystals is derived. The calculations were performed assuming the presence of Me2+–cation vacancy (I–V) complexes with vacancies in both nearest-neighbour and next-nearest-neighbour positions in the crystal lattice. The effective dipole moments of the I–V complexes have been taken into account. TSD bands of NaCl:Mn2+ crystals have been measured. A comparison between the experimental and calculated TSD bands is made.
