Eine stabile Organokupfer(II)-Verbindung mit einem einfach N-invertierten Calix[4]phyrin als C-Ligand wurde synthetisiert und durch eine Röntgenstrukturanalyse charakterisiert (siehe Bild). Für die Bildung der Metall-Kohlenstoff-Bindung erwies sich eine vollständige π-Konjugation als nicht notwendig.
