Abstract

Software baselines are established to provide well-defined points of departure for controlling subsequent changes to the items contained in the baseline. Baseline management is an integral component of the more encompassing configuration management Baseline management is the foundation for all the aspects of configuration management. A1though this article discusses baseline management from a software perspective, the concept applies equally to hardware and to system configuration management
