Abstract

Admixture between populations leads to linkage disequilibrium between loci if the allele frequencies are different between populations. One can test whether the linkage disequilibrium is due to linkage or admixture. One can condition the analysis on parental genotype or parental admixture. In the former case, what is scored is whether a haplotype in a parent is transmitted or not to an affected offspring.
